DNA Forensics Laboratory offers ready-to-use DNA Sampling Kits online. You can order these yourself to collect your own or a family member’s DNA sample. Once collected, all you have to do is send your kit back to our testing facility.

What Does the DNA Sample Collection Kit Contain?

The DNA Sample Collection Kit is a complete kit in itself and completely eliminates the need for any external assistance.

The kit contains swabs for two persons’ sample collection. Each kit contains the following:

4 Buccal/Cheek Swabs
2 Labelled DNA Sample Envelopes
1 Leaflet with Printed DNA Sample Collection Procedure
1 DNA Test Requisition Form

All these contents come packed inside the outer Kit envelope, in which the samples and the form are to be packed and sent back to the laboratory.

Steps for Using the DNA Sample Collection Kit

Step 1: Label the swab envelopes by writing the patient’s and collector’s details. After that put your signature in the relevant field, and get the tested person to sign, as well.
Step 2: Use one swab to rub the inside of one cheek for 30 seconds, then repeat on the other side with a second swab. Let the swabs air dry for 10 minutes before placing them in the swab envelope.
Step 3: Place the used swabs in the labeled envelopes. Always insert the swabs with the cotton tips first into the correct labeled envelope for each person.
Step-4: Follow Steps 1 to 3 for each person.
Step 5: Complete and sign the DNA Test Requisition Form by filling our the details of the tested partiers, the sample collector, the place of collection, etc.
Step 6: Pack the Samples in the Kit Envelope after placing all the labeled swab envelopes and the test requisition form. Seal the kit by removing the adhesive tape and send it back to us by a courier service provider.
